Possible thermal evolutionary pathways of irregular shaped small asteroids and planetesimals

چکیده

Two distinct thermal evolutionary pathways of irregular-shaped small planetesimals in the early solar system have been studied. We taken a case study two S-type asteroids: (243) Ida and (951) Gaspra, on basis their precise physical dimensions accessed by Philip Stooke body 3-D shape models NASA Planetary Data System. The for asteroids are based Galileo spacecraft fly-by mission. Based our novel code asteroids, we found that planetary bodies accreted within initial 2–3 million years (Myr) experienced sintering, whereas formed afterwards were left unconsolidated, e.g., as rubble pile. former set could direct aggregation nebula dust, or accretion sub km-sized bodies. Whereas, majority pile type later assemblage fragmented debris initially existing planetesimals. These cooled over tens millions years. generations time evolved from an ensemble compact consolidated to due collision-induced fragmentation re-accretion.

Ejecta–megaregolith accumulation on planetesimals and large asteroids

Megaregolith accumulation can have important thermal consequences for bodies that lose heat by conduction, as vacuous porosity of the kind observed in the lunar megaregolith lowers thermal conductivity by a factor of 10. I have modeled global average ejecta accumulation as a function of the largest impact size, with no explicit modeling of time. In conjunction with an assumed cratering size-dis...

Nomenclature and possible evolutionary pathways of metallothionein and related proteins.

In dealing with metal-binding proteins from nonmam-malian species, nomenclature and possible evolutionary relationships between these molecules and metallothi-oneins in mammals are ofclear scientific importance. The workshop summarized below was oriented towards a discussion of these topics based on the currently known physical and chemical characteristics of these molecules. Since metal cluste...

Differentiation of planetesimals and the thermal consequences of melt migration

We model the heating of a primordial planetesimal by decay of the short-lived radionuclides Al and Fe to determine (1) the time scale on which melting will occur, (2) the minimum size of a body that will produce silicate melt and differentiate, (3) the migration rate of molten material within the interior, and (4) the thermal consequences of the transport of Al in partial melt. Our models incor...

Two-Dimensional acking For Irregular Shaped Objects

Packing problems arise in a wide variety of application areas. The basic problem is that of determining an efficient arrangement of different objects in a region without any overlap. The simplest packing problem is rectangular packing, where both the objects and the region are rectangular. Many research works have been done on two and three dimensional rectangular packing. However there are man...
